Background

Twa Acres Hypnotherapy Training Centre originated in 1978. Its founder, Vicki Watson, had spent over twenty years in general and intensive care nursing as a registered general nurse, before finally deciding to make her long standing involvement in hypnotherapy known and began practising as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.

Over the years Vicki has unrelentingly promoted hypnotherapy for the superbly influential tool that it is in the fight against illness and runs a successful hypnotherapy practice. She is often called upon to give workshops and to lecture groups within the health service and other related bodies.

In 1989, due to an increasing demand from the general public for hypnotherapy as a treatment modality, Vicki and her husband Neil decided that, if they were to see the calibre of hypnotherapists they desired, they must set up their own training school thus, Twa Acres Hypnotherapy Training Centre became the Training School for the National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists.

The Scottish Office has long recognised that Twa Acres Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Course has reached an unrivalled standard of excellence. So much so, that they seconded a Medical Officer and subsequently a number of other Prison Officers and a prison nurse onto the course to learn hypnotherapy for use within the prison service.

The Carers Support Officer (Tayside Region) was also seconded onto the course by the National Schizophrenia Fellowship (Scotland), so that they could use hypnotherapy for schizophrenia sufferers, their relatives and staff members. In order that he too could use hypnotherapy for cancer sufferers, a Macmillan nurse was seconded by his Area Health Board to the course.
